My husband laughs when I say those two words together.
When I asked him why he finds it so funny, he replied, "Because you make up your mind so quickly".
The fact is, I don't really make up my mind quickly at all.
I don't typically do things on impulse at all.
I calculate and plan.
Then when I've decided my course of action I declare, "I've decided..."
It just sounds as if I made up my mind right there on the spot.
When in actuality it took me days, months even, to come to the decision.
With all of that in mind...
I've decided...
to start having giveaways.
I've noticed a lot of bloggers doing this.
They give away cameras, iPads, computers and whatnot.
I will not be giving away those things.
In fact, I have no idea what I will be giving away...
my stack of unopened mail?...
my empty ink cartridges?
my firstborn child?
I don't think people will be clamoring to get those, so here's my idea...
I'm going to start by giving away sweet things I find on the internet that I think are worthy of purchasing...perhaps on Etsy...because I love Etsy but avoid it like the plague because I will buy every single thing in it because it's so dad-gum cute.
Maybe this give away is just an evil scheme to allow me to shop on Etsy.
I've already mentioned my habit of putting things in my online shopping carts and then never buying them.
You guys should really be keeping an eye on me.
Once I get the kinks worked out of the whole process and how it's going to go down then I'm hoping to get some local business owners to help me out with some giveaways.
My thought is that they can give away something they'd like to promote for their particular business or they can help me purchase something that they'd like to have the honors of giving away.
I'm thinking small potatoes here by the way.
(Not actual potatoes.)
Maybe items $100 or less.
We're a small potato kind of town.
Why would a business want to help me?
Because I'm cute?
Nope.
Because I'm famous?
Wrong.
Because they could advertise to an internet audience?
Perhaps.
Specifically, they could be advertising to local consumers and the rest of the world.
Well, the rest of the world that reads my blog anyway.
All ten of them.
Not really.
I don't want to toot my own horn but I have about 150 hits a day on this baby.
Let it be known that 150 hits a day is nothing in the blogger realm. I'm just a baby blogger.
But I've had comments from Scotland!
And Arkansas.
So there.
What would you have to do to be eligible to win whatever amazing thing I've decided to give away?
For starters you have to read the blog.
Duh.
After that, the only requirement will be that you leave a comment on that particular post with your email so I can contact you if you win.
I'm not sure on all the details yet, but your email won't be visible to anyone else and you can bet your bootie that I won't be sending you junk mail because I don't know what junk I would send you and I don't have the time to be junk sending to random people.
In conclusion:
I'm sorry if I've thoroughly confused you but I'm excited about this and I think you will be too when you see the wonderful things I'll be giving away.

Well- I'm posting a totally random thought- but here we go. I'm all for give-aways. I love free stuff!! And i usually comment on most of ur posts to the blog- so this is just a plus. But now- the cheap mom in me has kicked in and I will feel compelled to comment on every post just for the randome chance to win free stuff. So be prepared for more totally random thoughts- which is what a blog is most of the time- so I guess i'm right on target :)

You have so many great ideas! I saw one the other day and thought of you. It was an ad in the paper and it said "Rent Jane's Handy Husband". And then it listed his handyman skills. Don't you think your hubby would look great on a tee shirt! It will have to be your hubby mine didn't even want me to see the ad, hehehe:)

I would just like to say i should have some seniority in this give away thing. I mean B, i've been a faithful follower and commenter for quite a long time. I look at least once a week and most of the time its like 13 times a week. Nice pics :)! Its weird but when i first saw this seniors pic i thought he looked just like matt damon!
