Matt and I were going to pick up a Craigslist purchase about two hours from our home.
He mentioned this to a friend of ours and the friend proclaimed that he and his wife wanted to come along.
Matt said, "We're just driving to pick up the furniture."
And the friend said, "That's fine. We like road trips."
So they rode two hours with us (one way) in the middle of the night to pick up furniture and it made the trip much more fun (not that I don't enjoy company with Matt but seriously, I'm with him ALL the time).
It was also less stressful (as Craigslist purchases are known to be) as I'm a worrier sometimes and they kept me preoccupied.
I'm glad they tagged along.
Last night Matt and I were painting.
It's not fun.
Two other friends stopped by while we were in the process.
They hung out until the job was almost finished and kept us company.
They even held things out of the way while we worked and pointed out flaws in the workmanship.
It made the work go faster and seem less daunting.
I'm glad they came.
In conclusion:
Our friends are awesome.
Or they need to reevaluate their idea of "fun" considering that one couple signed up to ride with us for four hours in the car at night and the others to watch paint dry.

It is the little things in life, like spending time together that make life great! Even watching paint dry becomes fun:)
